Things That Are Worth Spending Money On

Justifications for the self-employed/unemployed.

  • A proper kitchen knife, because chopping onions with a blunt one is a metaphor for suffering.

  • One pair of matching underwear, because nothing makes you feel more put together.

  • A fun lighter, for candles and witchy rituals.

  • A nice fruit bowl to remind you how exciting food is.

  • Your favourite book, so that you can annotate and write and underline as much as you want because it is YOURS.

  • A taxi home, don’t walk by yourself. Just get the taxi.

  • Good SPF.

  • A tailor, because our clothes are meant to fit us, not the other way around.

  • Local honey. Support your local bees, they work hard.

  • Art supplies, because creating art is a form of therapy and it’s cheaper than the real thing.

  • A good thermos, which does actually save you money in the long run because you’re going to bringing your own tea and soup everywhere.

  • A portable door lock for when you opt for the cheapest hostel in Delhi and that added sense of security means you can sleep at night.

  • A travel sized perfume, this will help you feel yummy even when you’re not at your yummiest (optional: use on the same day you’re wearing your matching underwear).

  • Tattoos, they’re literally with you for the rest of your life.

  • A small vase, because you’ll not have enough money to spend on flowers that require a big vase any time soon.
